A manatee was rescued off the coast of Cape Cod on the 22nd of September. It weighed more than 800 pounds and was taken to the Mystic Aquarium where it was kept in a heated pool. The aquarium hopes to relocate the manatee to warmer waters soon. Mystic Aquarium conducted a medical exam and found that the manatee is between four and five months pregnant. Therefore the care that the manatee receives is incredibly important, and it's very fortunate that she was rescued before water temperatures off the east coast lowered. She will be monitored to determine when she is stable enough to return back to the open ocean.
