Hello everyone, we hope you are all doing well after Hurricane Irma made its way through Florida. We are so excited to return back to our beautiful campus and see you all again. Our first meeting will be the day classes resume: Monday September 25th. 8 PM in Cox 126. We will try to keep it short as we know you will all be preoccupied with adjusting back to campus life. We will give updates on what the rest of this year has in store as well as host our scheduled Freshman Rep elections. If you think you’d be interested, there’s still time to apply for this fun position! Go to https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5LOQcDESZnoUnVjemdEVWpYLXM/edit?filetype=msword for the form and send your finished application to our email. We’d love to have you on our team!
As you’ve probably guessed, this hiatus from school will result in a lot of changes to our semester schedule, and we will be communicating those changes as quickly as possible. We are hoping to reschedule a few of the upcoming trips this hurricane may have jeopardized, and to keep the future trips already set, but our main concern is for the marine mammals this event has effected. All members should be prepared for upcoming stranding calls, as severe weather often results in large amounts of distressed marine life beaching themselves. So, upon our return we will likely be busier than ever with rescues and, sadly, a lot of necropsies for the animals we weren’t there to save. Keep your phones close and ringers on if you want to be first responders and help save some marine mammals in need!
Hope to see you all Monday!
